With offices in both Lakeland and Brandon, Dean Burnetti Law opened its doors in February 2015, with one goal in mind: Serving God as well as its clients. Mr. Burnetti, a former minister, wanted a different kind of law firm – one where he could practice his Christianity as well as the law in order to truly help people in need. As such, soon after the firm doors opened, they sought a ministry which would give back to the community, and by December 2015, they committed to help support Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital’s Bereavement Fund.
It’s not uncommon for people to want to give to assist surgically needy or terminally ill children, but too often, when the unthinkable happens and a child passes, the community’s focus turns to the next sick child and forgets the family of the child that died. Not only are such families left with an immense hole in their hearts and a void in their lives, but their bank accounts are often drained, and they have nothing left with which to give their child a decent burial. That’s where the hospital’s Bereavement Fund comes into play.
On June 24, 2016, Dean Burnetti Law was proud to host its First Annual Golf Tournament for the children at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
THE DEAN BURNETTI LAW FIRST ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT BENEFITING JOHNS HOPKINS ALL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
The tournament took place at The Club at Eaglebrooke in Lakeland, Florida, and the weather couldn’t have been better. God certainly smiled on us in the midst of a rainy week when He gave us a bright, sunny day without a cloud in the sky. Besides the firm’s three attorneys, Dean Burnetti, Tim Coleman, and Scott Graul, present at the tournament was former PGA Tour winner Andy Bean. Mr. Bean currently plays on the Champions Tour. Not only did he captivate the crowd with his magnificent speech, but he also donated a rangefinder to the winner of the putting contest.
The day, of course, included golf, but it also featured contests with prizes, a silent auction, a 50/50 contest, a raffle, giveaway goodies, and several door prizes.
Sponsors had the opportunity to purchase signs which we specially designed with each sponsor’s logo and color printed to make them stand apart from the regular black and white text only golf signs. This made for a colorful backdrop at each tee box along the course.
We hoped to be able to donate $5,000, and were pleasantly surprised once we tallied the proceeds and found that we exceeded our goal.
The Check Presentation
The tournament was a huge success, and netted $5,027.87 which was donated to the hospital’s Bereavement Fund on July 11, 2016.
